What are the different services and posts allocated through the UPSC CSE?

All India Services

  • Indian Administrative Service (IAS): Manages district administration and handles policy formulation and implementation at state and central levels.
  • Indian Police Service (IPS): Responsible for maintaining law and order, public safety, and managing police forces. 

    Group ‘A’ Central Services
  • Indian Foreign Service (IFS): Represents India abroad in embassies and manages international diplomatic relations.
  • Indian Audit and Accounts Service (IA&AS): Conducts financial auditing of central/state governments and public sector undertakings.
  • Indian Civil Accounts Service (ICAS): Provides payment services and government-wide accounting and financial reporting.
