4. Important instructions
- Read the instructions on the Commission's website before applying.
- Upload the Matriculation certificate (age proof), degree and mark sheets, category certificate, Bona fide Himachali certificate (reserved categories) and experience certificate where needed.
- Reservation is only for bona fide residents of HP under SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Ex-Servicemen, Wards of Ex-Servicemen, WFF and PwD categories.
- Regular in-service candidates must produce an NOC to be interviewed.
- Services and posts are allotted by final merit rank and the preference the candidate gives.
- Give a correct e-mail and mobile number for alerts. Aadhaar is optional.
- Capture a live photograph during the application. It is used to verify identity at the exam hall.
- Choose one optional subject for the Main Exam at the time of applying.

7. Misconduct and penalties
A candidate found guilty of impersonation, submitting false or tampered documents, obtaining the question paper improperly, influencing examiners, using unfair means, possessing a mobile phone or electronic device, or misbehaving at the centre can be prosecuted, have the candidature cancelled and be debarred for up to 15 years. The candidate is first given a chance to make a written representation.
